Back in 1973, after completing the restoration of the church, some funds were left over. The group of volunteers decided to organise an Easter Monday celebration in Campo and, from that day on, except during the Covid years or in case of bad weather, the event has always taken place.
The San Rocco group has carried the tradition forward for many years, and starting this year it will be held inside Campo Teatro degli Ulivi. Volunteers have changed over time: some have been there from the beginning, others have passed the baton to their children — but the spirit has remained exactly the same.
And as every year, the classics are never missing: spaghetti with sardines, eggs, sandwiches, the colomba… and above all, plenty of cheerfulness.
