PIPPO POLLINA & PALERMO ACOUSTIC QUINTET

Monday, August 10 – 9:30 PM – 30€

Pippo Pollina, born in Palermo and artistically rooted in Central Europe, has reached the age of 60 and over forty years of an extraordinary career with 26 albums and thousands of concerts. For the past two years, he has been presenting this intense, moving and high‑quality performance across the continent, supported by an ensemble of excellent musicians.

In his concert, Pollina shares the reflections of a poet: moods – sometimes very intimate – expressed through verses and melodies, narrating dreams, hopes and disappointments. His repertoire reveals a mature artist, deeply engaged in a personal search and always ready to face new challenges, without ever forgetting the civil commitment that has long been a defining element of his artistic and musical vision.

This concert is the vivid, engaging live expression of his most recent recording projects, which have profoundly challenged Pippo Pollina as a composer and poet, but also as a thinker, musician and arranger. Ambitious, mature and coherent musical works.

Alongside the most recent songs from his latest albums, the concert also includes some of the most significant pieces from Pollina’s vast songbook, always attentive to social themes, freedom, and the fight against wars, dictatorships and the mafia.

On stage with him is an entirely Italian ensemble: the PALERMO ACOUSTIC QUINTET

Gianvito Di Maio (keyboards and accordion)
Fabrizio Giambanco (drums)
Edoardo Musumeci (guitars)
Roberto Petroli (saxophone and clarinet)
Mario Rivera (bass and double bass)
